Night at the Oscars

There is a fun story behind this cake. The lady this cake is for is turning 40 and she loves the Oscars. Her friends decided to give her a surprise party. A limo will arrive at her house tonight with a special dress she is to change into. Then she will be taken to the party. When she arrives there will be a red carpet to walk down complete with flashing cameras. Everyone will be dressed in tuxes and formal wear. There will even be Oscar presentations.

A Mother's Day Story

Every day last week Aiden was on the computer with the Wonder Pets. Aiden loves these little characters and has learned a lot from them. He has learned all about keeping the earth clean, being polite, being a hero, helping your family, and this week he learned what mother's day is all about. According to the Wonder Pets mother's day is when you give flowers to your mom to show them how special they are. This is what Aiden wanted to do. So Sunday morning Papa and I delivered flowers to Aiden so he could give them to his mother. He was so excited.

What a sweet little boy!!

Blue and White Baby Shower

I got an order for two cakes for a baby shower. Both moms are expecting boys. One nursery is decorated as Noah's Ark and the other is a sport's themed room. Since the shower was for both of them I tied the two cakes together with the blue and white color theme while still maintaining the nursery themes. The ark, animals, and tennis shoes are all made out of fondant. One cake is white and the other is triple chocolate fudge with buttercream frosting and covered in fondant. They are not really very big cakes. The bottom is a 7 inch and the top is only 5 inches.

A Topsy Turvy Cake

This was such a fun cake to make. The little girl who the cake was made for watches "Cake Boss" and asked her mom if she could have a Topsy Turvy cake that had zebra stripes, feather, pink and white circles, as well as a black bow. This is the cake I made for Jade. The cake was a suprise and when I delivered it to her she was speechless. When I asked her if the cake was as good as "Cake Boss" she said that it was even better.

Mickey and Mini Mouse Cake

This cake was done for Addison who turned 7 in April and her little brother Tate who will be 5 this month. Mom and dad had a surprise combined birthday for them. The theme? You guessed it, something that said Disneyland, because their present was going to be a trip to Disneyland. I chose Mickey and Mini Mouse. The hat is made with rice krispies and covered with fondant. Mickey and Mini are made with fondant.

EASTER 2010

On Friday Taylor, Riley and Aiden came over and dyed Easter eggs. Riley loved to write on his with wax, creating different designs. Taylor created very bright colored egges. Aiden, well, he loved to put the egges in the dye and then wait and wait and wait. Finally he would bring out a brightly colored egg. Aiden finished his dozen and wanted to know if he could have more. When told no, he just redyed the ones he had. Three time!!

Easter morning we gathered at our house for Brunch, Easter baskets, and then outside to gather the eggs Easter bunny had hiden.

Everyone had a great time running around the yard gathering eggs. This has become quite a tradition.

Don't the girls look so pretty in their dresses. And get a look at the boys. They are really sharp in their ties. The bunny in Aiden's hands is a close as we will ever get to a picture with the Easter Bunny until he gets over his fear of it. But we did get to have a duck in our picture.
Hope everyone had a great Easter.
